Happy New Year! 2018 went by so fast that we want to take this opportunity to look back at the exciting things that happened at RPC. A lot has happened, many of which were our ‘firsts’ in the industry. From beginning till the end of 2018, our studio welcomed new and old faces, thankful for the busy schedule we had.

So, we’re kicking off the new year with an RPC rewind and a little bit of ‘New Year, New Us’ this 2019. We look forward to another great year!

Our move to the former National Film Board of Canada (NFB) location at the Entertainment District in Downtown Toronto

Happy new year

The beginning of 2018 started with us moving in to our new home. The vacated space was completely renovated, turning it into an open concept lounge and bar area. NFB’s old theatre was renovated as well, stripping away outdated seats and replacing it with more comfortable couches. The new location is in the middle of the bustling entertainment district, with CTV, Scotiabank Theatre, and Toronto International Film Festival (tiff) as our new neighbours. It was a great start to our year as the expansion opened so many doors and opportunities.

Our projects doubled as we took on many new and exciting projects

happy new year

We welcomed many new faces and took on more projects in 2018. We took on our first animated project “True and the Rainbow Kingdom,” where we did post sound. We also welcomed CBC’s “Diggstown” and a feature film called “Sweetness in the Belly” starring Dakota Fanning to name a few.

Our first experience at the Toronto International Film Festival (tiff.)

happy new year

Being neighbours with TIFF has its perks – we were able to experience the biggest film festival in Toronto. We opened our doors to our festival friends and hosted press screenings for ‘Mouthpiece,’  and two of TIFF’s special presentations and highly-anticipated films, “Vox Lux” and “The Sisters Brothers.” We also accommodated press interviews for “El Angel” director Luis Ortega, “Birds of Passage” director Cristina Gallego, and “Splinters” director Thom Fitzgerald and actor Sofia Banzhaf in coordination with Taro PR.

A film that we were a part of, “The Stone Speakers,”  also had its world premiere at #TIFF18.

Sweetness in the Belly, Diggstown, Cardinal Season 3 premiere, Baroness Von Sketch Show Season 4, Pugly, and many more

Some of our favourite series are coming back with new seasons: Cardinal Season 3 is premiering on January 24th, 2019 on CTV and has also been picked up for Season 4. Baroness Von Sketch Show continues with Season 4 and Hip Hop Evolution with Season 3. The makers of  “Catwalk: Tales From The Cat Show Circuit” are coming out with a new cute documentary starring pugs called “Pugly: A Pug’s Life.” It will premiere on January 11, 2019 on CBC.

We are also providing post production services for new and exciting projects like “Sweetness in the Belly” starring Dakota Fanning and CBC’s “Diggstown.”

We expect exciting days and late night sessions in our studio as we do sound, picture and everything else in between!

New Year, New Studios

We are always committed to delivering great services. We are looking forward to hosting in our new post sound and picture studios. Mix, Record, ADR, and Colour Grade in these Martin Pilchner Designed rooms.
