The much-awaited legal drama, Diggstownhelmed by Frank Lloyd is finally coming to the small screen every Wednesday starting March 6th on CBC. Diggstown stars Vinessa Antoine as Marcie Diggs, a corporate lawyer who returns to her hometown in Halifax after her aunt commits suicide because of a malicious prosecution. As she struggles to find justice she decides to work for legal aid for a diverse range of clients.

Diggstown has been turning heads for having its first Black-Canadian lead actress (Vinessa Antoine) in prime time TV in Canada. It is history in the making as the show follows its US counterpart in showing more representation on TV. It will also look at under-represented Black communities in Canada, especially the historic Black community of Nova Scotia.

Diggstown is co-produced by Floyd Kane’s Freddie Films and Amos Adetuyi’s Circle Blue Entertainment and DHX Media.

Don’t miss the series premiere tonight, March 6th, at 8pm on CBC and streaming on CBC Gem.
