The Impossible Swim marks the first collaboration between father-daughter Larry and Ali Weinstein. Larry, an acclaimed documentary director, was thrilled to work with Ali whose passion also included swimming.

The documentary chronicles 16-year old Maya Farrell’s mission to complete an 88-km record swim from Rochester to Toronto. It also features her mentors Marilyn Bell and Vicki Keith – both of whom accomplished the swim across Lake Ontario in the past. In 2014, Maya’s first attempt was ultimately halted because of a storm. She was only 300 meters away from completing her swim when her team pulled her from the water. The film shows the strong determination of a young athlete and three generations of female marathon swimmers.

The film is produced by Circle Blue Entertainment’s Amos Adetuyi and John Booth.

The Impossible Swim is the third episode of the all-new season of TSN’s award-winning series ENGRAVED ON A NATIONIt premieres Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN, with on-demand streaming available through TSN, TSN.ca, the TSN app, and on the all-new Crave.
